In late May the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announced a delay of the effective date of the final rule on Entry-Level Driver Training, making the effective date this past Monday, June 5, 2017. The delay was required by the Trump Administration "Regulatory Freeze Pending Review," which directed the heads of Executive Departments and Agencies to temporarily postpone for 60 days from the date of the memorandum the effective dates of certain regulations that have been published in the Federal Register, but had not yet taken effect. The compliance date is unaffected by the delay and remains February 7, 2020.
